Personal Development (Reflection 1)

MPU Reflection 1

Describe:
On Monday, we had attended the MPU class, we had been taught about Taylor's Graduate Capabilities (TGC). We had presented our point of views in front of our classmates about the skills we had learned throughout the year in Taylor's College. Besides that, we also learned about on self-reflection through DIEP format, which are ‘Describe, Interpret, Evaluate and Plan’. It is important as it involves in critical thinking, self-development and goal setting. Self-reflection can be a daunting task but it let us to understand our learning experience better.
Interpretation:
During presentation, we focused on the 'Discipline Specific Knowledge' and 'Thinking and Problem Solving Skills'. For the 'Discipline Specific Knowledge', we were doing the issue investigation of English as Second Language Studies (ESL), we needed to conduct a survey to investigate the response of society on our issue. According to the results of survey, the society had concerned about the ethical issue of animal testing. By this, we understood ethical issue in the context of field of study. For example, the animal testing is unsafe and might cause harm to the animals.
Evaluate:
Through the issue investigation, we learned about the ethical guideline and it might helpful to our future included the university admission. We are able to respect others and benefits of every parties can be considered at the same time. When we are doing survey of issue investigation in university in our future, we can understand the ethical guideline that must be follow. This can protect the rights of participants and other parties. By this, arguments and conflicts can be avoided effectively. This can enhance our skills on 'Discipline Specific Knowledge'.
Plan:

We can improve this skills by participating in social activities such as engaging ourselves into several clubs that are available in our universities or social life. We can practice this skills and gather more opinions from others during social activities, this can enhance our skills on 'Discipline Specific Knowledge'.
